Reading this I found myself wondering how much your books may have actually shaped my thinking as a child. Balancing reason and skepticism with intuition and open mindedness is the key to walking between worlds. Few can do this well, and those that can are tasked with building a bridge that spans the chasm between the ineffable and the mundane. We all owe you a tremendous debt of gratitude for your contributions in that regard. Early in the article you mention that you view the ubiquity of a concept or belief was an indicator of relevance or substance. This is part of my research protocol as well, and some of the things that I've connected are so specific and universal that they challenge conventional reasoning to explain.

The magicians circle, for example; whether ayahuasquero, Hermetic magician, Druid, or Native American, a circle is always cast. It always represents the microcosm, the space that the magician must manage the energies within. Four directions or four elements are next acknowledged. In the case of the elements, but 3 are true elements, since earth is an aggregate of the others. In modern physics, we have 3 true fundamental forces; gravity is actually a consequence of the others. My point is that while I agree that nothing is really "supernatural," as you pointed out in the article, these commonalities that span disparate cultures and historical periods, I believe, are deeper than psychology, although still fundamentally mental, or cognitive. They are reflections of the deep architecture of reality, domain and scale-invariant, and somehow accessible even to pre-scientific, ancient minds .Scientific progress looks more and more like a reiteration of ancient knowledge.

"When I was just a little young boy, Papa said "Son...you know you'll never get far. Tell you the reason, if you want to know...Child of mine...there isn't really very far to go."-Grateful Dead, Dupree's Diamond Blues.

Looking forward to our upcoming discussion. Hopefully my machine will cooperate this time.

Salud.
